Describe the role of solar energy (both direct and indirect) to the people of Sparks.  How do the Emberites respond to the presence of the sun?  You must include at least two quotes or passages from the assigned reading.

Solar energy is the energy from the sun, which can be used to power houses and veicals. the thing is when collecting solar energy, you need lots of sunlight. The Emberites respond to the sun by being amazed of the light.

It alows their plants to cary out photosynthisis so they can grow food that provides them with energy when they eat the plants it also provides heat and light to keep them warm, provide them with light to work and also provides them with vitamin D. When the Emberites left the cave they didn't know what it was but they found out that it was called the sun and that made the air around them realy hot and they eventualy wanted to go back to ember.

The Emberites are not used to the sun. The sun seems bright for them ,they lived underground for quite some time . so to the emberites the sun needs to shine over where they are because, the plants need to produce photosynthsis.

I think it is possible to live under ground; if they don’t run out of food and vitamins. They can get their air from the plants in the green house, the river that came threw Ember and the big hole on top of Ember. But if they ran out of can food things will be difficult. Then they would probably try to find a way out of the city of ember.

Solar energy is energy from the sun that people can use for electricity. It allows them to power their houses but, needs some time since solar energy is absorbed very little at a time. In Sparks they use solar energy to grow their crops. This would be indirect since the sun gives the energy to the plants and then the people of sparks would eat the crops giving them the energy. Also the solar energy gives them heat. When the people of Ember came out of from underground the sun was bright to them. They weren’t used to the sun yet so most of them were sometimes hot and sweaty and got sunburn from working outside. On page 105 Doon explained how he and the others were hot and that their skin was red and peeling. This is a direct effect. On page 106 Doon also explained how he had to plant seeds, pick fruit, and milk goats. The plants would need sunlight and water so they can grow.

Solar energy to the people of Sparks is very normal. They wake up every morning and see the sun. When they are outside working the soak up the vitamin D. That is direct sunlight. Also when the People of Sparks grow food, the solar energy in the plants is transferred to their bodies. That is indirect sunlight. The Emberites are appalled when they see the sun for the first time. After the Emberites were walking for a couple of days the sun started to annoy them. They were too hot and uncomfortable.

To the people of Sparks, the sun is a very common and normal tool that they use to live. The sun makes their crop grow, which they eat. The sun also affects them directly, giving them vitamin D. The sun also makes them tan, which helps prevent sunburn. The people of Ember, the sun is an incredible and very new concept to them. They are pale from living underground for generations. They never harnessed the power of the sun.

The use of solar energy is a big part in The People of Sparks whether it is direct or indirect. The town of Sparks have had sunlight all of their life and they know how to use it an example of how they use it indirectly is through the crops that they grow. This quote taken from page 83 says “Probably you haven’t had picked carrots, either,” so to have pickled carrots you need to grow your own carrots. The town of Sparks may be used to the sun but the Emberites are not. The sun it an irritating thing that causes the pain from a direct transfer of its energy, in a passage taken from page 105 it says “It wasn’t just the work it was the heat they had to work in. Doon never felt this warm in his life it was liked being cooked.”

solar energy is a source of heat and energy that comes from the sun that plants use to make food and people use to power things to make them work

On page 105 Doon said that all the Emberities skin was hot and peeling. That's a direct effect of ultraviolet rays burning the gentle skin of the pale people. they weren't exposed to it before, so it really hurt them when it did happen. As for the indirect, the Sparks' people are much bigger in size. It's because they have fresh food that is filled with proper nutrients from the sun, giving them the ability to grow much taller and way stronger.

Solar energy is an energy resource for humans and plants. Humans use solar energy for warmth and plants use it to make food. In sparks, the Emberites wondered about the sun and were amazed by how the sun made them warm

The sun is very important to the people of Sparks. It used both used directly and indirectly. When they go outside they absorb vitamin D, which is direct sunlight affecting them. They also get energy from eating the crops that grow using the energy from the sun. That is an example of using indirect energy from the sun. The Emberites were surprised by the sun. They had never felt that sort of heat before. On page 130, they were describing how the Emberites felt like they were trapped in an oven. At first they didn’t know what to think of it; they said it was a great orange ball up in the sky.

Solar energy is the suns energy. In the book the people that lived underground had no sun so they where pale. When they came up from the ground there was lots of sun and the people where not used to the sun. When they dug the holes in the ground for there restrooms they got lots of direct sunlight. Also when they eat the food they grow, they get indirect energy from the crops because the crops absorb energy from the sun.

The Emberties have a lot of direct sunlight from standing outside digging and working. They also get indirect sunlight from the food they get from a garden. Doon and his father both have to work outside and dig 6 feet holes in the blazing sun where there is direct sunlight. Some of the plants that they grow doesn't require direct sunlight or doesnt have to have as much sunlight. The Emberties where not used to the sunlight when they started working very hard and where still use to there cool climate back in Ember.

Solar energy comes from the sun. The people of Ember are not used to the sun, because they have lived underground their whole life. When they came out of the ground, it was a big change for them, all the heat shining on them. Now that they are working outside, they are getting sunburns and sweting alot, and Doon said. Also, to describe how hot it was in Sparks, they said it was like they were in a oven. It's going to take them awhile to get used to the heat.

Solor energy can be used for a lot of things like heating homes and vehicals. when the emberites came up from under groud they where surprised to see the sun. They liked it at first but when they went to sparks and had to work out in the fields they started to hate it beacuse it was burning and peeling there skin. But the sun helped them by giving them vitamins and providing the plants that they eat with energy.

In the People of Sparks, the people of Ember do not like the sun, but they do like the sun at the same time. The reason they like the sun is there is no black outs. But as well they don’t like it because it is to hot for them, because they are not used to the sun. The people of Ember are not used to the sun. The reason is because they have lived underground their whole life. They came out of the ground; it was a big change for them. The heat shining on them was to hot. Now that they are working outside, they are getting sunburns and sweating a lot, and Doon said. Also, to describe how hot it was in Sparks, they said it was like they were in an oven. It is going to take the people of Ember awhile to get used to the heat.

Solar energy is needed for photosynthsis or there would not be oxgen. When the people of Ember came from the caves the where suprised that there was the sun. The heat from the sun must of suprised them because they where in a cooled place all the time.

Solar energy is the energy from the sun, and the people of Sparks use it for their electricity, it allows them to light up their houses. when the people of Ember got to Sparks they were all sweaty and hot because they were in the sun for a long time they are not used to the sun or hot weather. It wasnt as hot as they thought they were used to it being cold so they just didnt expect it to be that hot. on page.105 Doon was saying that he had never been that hot in his life. The sun helps plants grow because of the vitamin D. Ember was never able to have plants that required heatand light because there wasnt any heat or light so they had to make potatoes a lot. In Sparks they had more types of plants because the plants could get all the vitamin D they need. on page 83 Mrs. Polster was saying how they had carrots but they were smaller than the ones in Sparks because they had less light.
